New Zealand's National Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Report
Following public feedback, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice and the Attorney-General have approved the revised report that examines New Zealand's human rights record. A copy of the report is attached (and is also available on the Ministry's website - www.mfat.govt.nz - in MS Word and HTML formats)
The report was submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council last week for New Zealand's review under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process.
New Zealand's UPR review takes place on Thursday 7 May at 7pm (New Zealand time) and the adoption of the Council's Working Group report takes place on Monday 11 May at 10pm (New Zealand time).
Both sessions can be watched on the UN webcast (www.un.org/webcast/unhrc).
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who participated in the public meetings in August and March and those that took the time to make written submissions.
