WHAKATANE TOUCH CLASSIC – Sunday May 3 at 2.00 PM

All the action from one of New Zealand's elite touch tournaments held in January 2009, featuring many of our top Maori touch players from around the country. Today: 2 Sharp v Isotonics (Womens Open) and Frezin Hot v Saiyans (Mens Open).

 

KO TAWA – Sunday May 3 at 8.30 PM

A six-part series telling the stories behind a selection of taonga collected by Captain Gilbert Mair throughout his lifetime.  Tonight: Te Mautaranui was a famous Urewera and Bay of Plenty chief, in possession of a fearsome tewhatewha, a two-handed weapon made from white manuka.

 

RED SHOES (SUNDAY FEATURE) (2005) – Sunday May 3 at 9.00 PM

Sunjae is a woman who leads a happy life.  Her daughter Taesoo is learning ballet, her husband is kind and loving and she has a decent job.  But her happiness is shattered when she finds her husband with another woman.  Made in Korea.

 

HAA – Monday May 4 at 6.00 PM

A new series of the high-energy info-tainment magazine programme for teenagers, with presenters Kimo Houltham, Amanda Ashford and Hoete Mitai-Ngatai. The new HAA presenters are interviewed at a photo shoot, and Kimo catches up with talented singer/song writer Ngatapa Black. (Maori language)

 

411 – Monday May 4 at 9.30 PM

Reviews, highlights and samples from the world of technology, in Aotearoa and the world beyond.  This week: The 411 goes sky high with Mike Pero and his very own Flight Simulator, and Taakaro Ataata checks out Pacific Rift Motorstorm.

 

THE LEGACY OF A REVOLUTION (INTERNATIONAL DOCO) – Tuesday May 6 at 8.30 PM

It's been nearly 30 years since Nicaragua's Sandinista National Liberation Front toppled Central America's longest dictatorship.  Its legacy has left a lasting impression on the country.

 

HYUNDAI CODE (SPORTS) – Thursday May 7 at 8.30 PM

Jenny-May Coffin and the team are in the house with New Zealand's award-winning sports programme, live from Maori Television's Auckland studio. Check out the great guests, captivating korero and comical capers of 'Brofessionals' Matua Parkinson and Glen Osborne, and new presenter Ruben Wiki.

 

HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI – Friday May 8 at 8.30 PM

The interactive singing competition that comes live and direct out of Maori Television HQ in Auckland, hosted by Te Hamua Nikora.  Viewers get to vote for who they want to win the weekly prize of $1000, plus the chance to compete in the final for $10,000.  Repeats on Saturdays at 5.30 PM.
