[pima.nius] PIMA Offers Condolence on Samoa Tsunami

7:14 AM |

PIMA (Pacific Islands Media Association) offers its condolences to all the families affected by the tragedy of the September Tsunami of 2009.

The September 29th Tsunami has claimed many lives and the ramifications of the emotional and physical devastation resulting from the tsunami will be felt for some time.

It is in this time of need that Samoans and Tongans in Aotearoa and around the world rally to support loved ones in the Islands. It is also a time when the support of others is appreciated, especially from the neighboring Islands of Aotearoa and Australia.

Following on from the tragic loss of life in the Princess Ashika Disaster in Tonga just last month and having more loss of life on the Islands of Niuatoputapu, Upolu and Tutuila the grief felt amongst many has been great.

PIMA consoles those who are affected and hopes for quick resolve and strength of spirit in these difficult times.

PIMA wishes to support the media in their efforts to tell the stories of those who have traversed the mountains of disaster and survived against the odds.

PIMA supports the media in their efforts to relay up-to-date news and coverage of events on the ground and in responses overseas.

PIMA also supports the media's role in bringing communities together and supporting those in need.

Ua tagi le fatu ma le eleele.
