Samoa Media Council. Malo Tupuola!! Interesting development. What indeed will be the structure? Will it be an independent body? What powers will it have? What provision will there be for the monitoring of foreign media and reports? Will it oversee media accreditation to the country? Is it locally concerned only? Will its members be independent or from the industry? Is this an opportunity for the government of Samoa to set its media policies with a mind to the future? Is this progress?

Terry, Terry, Terry,
I am disappointed you have turned into this, a spoke in the wheel of Sailele propaganda! You edit the government newspaper, after doing exactly what the media are doing today – exposing the wrongs by government.
As for your media council, so I guess you'll be the CEO of the 'new' and proposed authority? What a sad sad loss you are.
You have lost sight of the truth, and of reality …that's what happens when you are perched high on Level 6 at the Government building, you fail to see the reality that is Samoa….I suggest you afio down to the masses and learn a lesson or two.
hi fotu,
How's you these days? Hope you're not too dissappointed with me. Really breaks my heart..hihi.
Anyway, media councils are run by the industry n i don't see how govt can infiltrate it.
And going by how slooooooow things move here, most probably wont happen in our lifetime.
All I said is that there are a lot of pertinent issues that have to be sussed out by the industry when media stakeholders meet. As for CEO, truth be known, i have no ambition to be CEO of anything. Such a booooring administrative job.
Spoke on Tuilaepa's propaganda machine? Woo-hoo. Now where did that come from? If I ever was I would've been fired long ago. PM does not want yes-men around him.
Anyway, I'm actually on level 2 with an ear on the ground. I spend most of my time in the villages anyway.
Good to see you all kood and dendy.
