Pacnews may have exclusive censorship freedoms
Updated
Foreign media in Fiji may not be subjected to the same restrictions as local media, once the country's new media decree is enacted. Since Easter 2009, Pacnews has been under censorship, and banned from publishing any story critical of Fiji's leaders. That's led to calls for the PINA Secretariat and PacNews to be moved to another Pacific country. But after a meeting today between PINA's President, Moses Steven and Fiji's Chief Censor, Sharon Smith-Jones, Pacnews is likely to remain in Fiji.
Presenter: Campbell Cooney
