Pacific islands leaders invited to Pacific Arab Summit

Middle Eastern countries have turned to the Pacific to garner support for issues affecting the Arab world. Foreign Ministers and senior officials from the Pacific have been invited to the Pacific Arab Summit, being held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The U-A-E's Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan issued the invite for all sides to discuss co-operation between the League of Arab States and the Pacific. Issues on the agenda may include renewable energy, investment and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Solomon Islands, Samoa, Palau, Nauru, Tuvalu, Fiji, Micronesia and Marshall Islands are among the countries which are expected to send a representative. The three day summit is being held from the 23rd of June.
