Has Obama fulfilled promise of being a 'Pacific President'?

In January 2009 Barack Obama won the US presidential elections and declared himself the "first Pacific President". How seriously has he been taking that statement? The Lowy Institute for International Policy in Sydney hosted "the Pacific Presidency" forum to discuss that question.
