Call for Proposals – Fifth Round of Funding – UNDEF

On November 15 2010, UNDEF opens the window for applications for its Fifth Round of Funding, following the green light given by UNDEF Advisory Board. Project proposals may be submitted on-line between 15 November 2010 and 31 December 2010 at http://www.un.org/democracyfund/ , where applicants can also find guidelines, FAQs and lessons learned from previous rounds. The latest issue of the UNDEF Update, the newsletter of the United Nations Democracy Fund is also available. more


Human Rights Day 2010: Speak  Up, Stop Discrimination – UNHCR

The theme for this year's Human Rights Day is human rights defenders who act to end discrimination. This theme will highlight and promote the achievements of human rights defenders and emphasize the primary role Governments must play in enabling and protecting them. The Day is also intended to inspire a new generation of defenders to speak up and take action to end discrimination in all of its forms whenever and wherever it is manifested. more…
