Job Vacancy: Network Programme Director
The Pacific Media Network (PMN), based in Ponsonby, is Aotearoa's Pan-Pacific national broadcasting network. We deliver relevant, high quality Pan Pacific broadcasting services to, for and about Pacific people consistent with our vision of "Celebrating the Pacific Spirit". Our programmes are broadcast in English and Pacific languages, via our flagship services, Niu FM, 531pi, and Pacific Radio News.
We are seeking to appoint a communications professional to lead and manage the PMN programming and news and current affairs functions of the network. Reporting to the CEO, the successful incumbent will develop and implement strategies and plans in collaboration with programming and sales that are consistent with the values and objectives of the Board, and our communities. Candidates will be tertiary qualified in a communications or related field, preferably to degree level, with extensive media, particularly radio, industry experience.
Other key criteria include:
- 5 years plus experience at programme director or similar within the media broadcasting industry, preferably in radio. A strong understanding of the future potential of digital would be valuable.
- Proven experience in leading and managing successful teams
- Strong relationship management skills and excellent analytical thinking are important and you'll thrive on improving systems and processes that enhance business effectiveness.
- Above all the person needs to be very operationally focused, results-oriented, and have the credibility and leadership required to help take the organisation to the next level of its exciting growth path
- A sound understanding of and affinity with Pacific cultures
