interested and qualified individuals for two new positions – /Trade
Justice Campaigner/ and /Communications Officer/. These positions,
beginning in early 2010, offer exciting and rewarding opportunities

*Vacancies at PANG:*

The Pacific Network on Globalisation (PANG) invites applications from
interested and qualified individuals for the following positions with
PANG in Suva, Fiji.

*1.) Trade Justice Campaigner:*

*Key functions:*

· Develop and lead the implementation of a campaign for trade justice
in the Pacific;

· Plan, coordinate and implement trade justice campaign activities,
events and communications;

· Develop and enhance grassroots participation in campaigning activities;

· Research and analyse a wide range of material relating to trade
policy and development in the Pacific island countries;

· Undertake research for campaign projects and write policy briefings
in conjunction with the Coordinator and the Reference Group;

· Represent PANG in public activities and with other groups at events
and meetings and occasionally in the media;

· Build and maintain a network of external contacts, specialists and
advisors to assist PANG's campaigning activities;

· Prepare reports for the Coordinator and Steering Committee.

*Essential Qualifications and Experience:*

· Motivated attitude towards addressing economic justice issues in the Pacific.

· A minimum of 5 years experience in campaigning or NGO work.

· A degree in economics, development studies or relevant social
science area such as political science.

· Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).

· Proven campaign management abilities.

· Experience in coordinating campaigns.

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

· Knowledge on economic globalisation issues.

*2.) Communications Officer:*

*Key functions: *

· Develop and implement a communications strategy to complement PANG's
advocacy work on globalisation, trade policy and economic justice in
the Pacific;

· Coordinate the production of publications and ensure all PANG
documentation adheres to PANG standards, style and branding
requirements;

· Maintain and update online content (website, email listserv and e-newsletter);

· Prepare Media Releases (Press Releases and Feature Stories) in
conjunction with other PANG staff, and organise occasional media
events (Press Conferences etc.)

· Maintain up-to-date media contacts for the dissemination of media content.

*Essential Qualifications and Experience:*

· Motivated attitude towards addressing economic justice issues in the pacific.

· A minimum of 5 years experience in communications.

· A degree in Communications or Journalism is preferable.

· Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).

· Excellent interpersonal skills.
