Good to see One Network News did a story on the Rugby Sevens celebrations in Samoa over the weekend. Check out Tagata Pasifika for more coverage.

True Maunaleo. The coverage on the main broadcasters' sports segments of news was also very much underdone. Funny huh. It seems this is only a nation that loves rugby when it is winning. Real rugby fans would appreciate the story of a tiny nation of 200,000 people and the players exclusively from that nation (ie. they didn't take imports from overseas), taking out the entire Rugby Sevens series. Is this an underdog story or what? ...but hey, let's quietly forget about it 'cause New Zealand (population - 21 times bigger than Samoa and with the money) didn't win. Expect to see more argy, some rule changing, moving of posts and throwing of kitchen sinks before the World Cup.

but (sigh) it wasn't prominently featured anywhere. Sad! Very Sad!
