Tonga womens group welcomes female cabinet minister
Updated
A womens group in Tonga has welcomed the appointment of a female cabinet minister, but is still unhappy that not a single woman was elected to parliament.
The Tonga Womens and Childrens Crisis Centre says it's good that Dr Ana Taufe'ulungaki [Tow-fey-oo-loong-gar-key] has been made Minister of Education, Womens Affairs and Culture.
Ofa Guttenbeil-Likiliki, the WCCC's director, says they're less happy that she had to be appointed from outside parliament, seeing as there's not a single female MP after Niovember's election.
Presenter: Bruce Hill
Speaker: Ofa Guttenbeil-Likiliki, director of the Tonga Womens and Childrens Crisis Centre
