First Maori appointed to Broadcasting Standards Authority

A lawyer and experienced broadcaster, Te Rau Kupenga (Ngati Porou), has become the first Maori to be appointed to the Crown entity.

Te Rau Kupenga is from the East Coast, Ngati Porou, and has been living in Wellington for the past few years.

Mr Kupenga, who hosts Maori Television's Maorioke and is a regular men's panel guest on TVNZ's Good Morning show, replaces newspaper journalist Tapu Misa.
